Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Inc. (VITL), the independent non-profit organization that built and operates Vermont’s statewide health information network, is seeking candidates for the following positions:



Assistant Vice President Program Implementation


Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Inc. is seeking an assistant vice president of program implementation. Reporting to the CEO as part of the VITL executive leadership team, you will be responsible for developing strategies and implementing programs designed to accelerate the adoption of health information technology in Vermont. You must synthesize requirements from various stakeholders into actionable programs in support of Vermont’s statewide health reform efforts. You will directly manage the eHealth Services Team, one of VITL’s three main business units, serve as the primary liaison with the Vermont Blueprint for Health, and oversee VITL’s relationships with key health care providers across the state.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding executive leadership capabilities and meet the following requirements:

  • Collaborative management style
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Ability to develop creative, actionable programs from disparate and often ill-defined requirements
  • 10+ years account management, consulting or business services in health IT
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Management in a clinical practice setting is a plus

Marketing Manager


Vermont Information Technology Leaders is seeking a marketing manager to develop and manage marketing and outreach campaigns and programs that create demand and awareness of the Health Information Exchange and eHealth Services offerings provided by VITL.

Reporting to the vice president of marketing and business development, the ideal candidate will have 7+ years’ experience marketing Health IT products and services. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to thrive in a multitasking, fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree is required.  Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and execute promotional programs that create demand for HIE and eHealth Services that resonate with target audience.
  • Develop and maintain product marketing collateral such as: web site content, brochures, data sheets and other materials
  • Articulate the value proposition of VITL services internally and externally to stakeholders, constituents and health care providers.
  • Effectively utilize social media to increase awareness of VITL products and services
  • Understand alternatives to VITL services and articulate competitive benefits of VITL services.
  • Manage portions of annual VITL Summit and other marketing events.
  • Work with contracted PR Firm on outbound communications
  • Manage email distribution lists and maintain regular outbound email communications (newsletters, etc)

eHealth Specialist


Vermont Information Technology Leaders is seeking an eHealth specialist to serve health care organizations in the Lamoille Valley and Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. eHealth specialists become trusted advisors and consult with health care organizations to assist providers with the successful implementation of  health IT. eHealth specialists help to guide providers in meaningful use of electronic health record systems, the adoption of the VITLAccess (the statewide provider portal to the Vermont health information exchange), and other initiatives that improve clinical data quality for enhanced patient care. 5+ years working in a health care setting is required, with experience implementing and using EHR systems and health information technology highly desired. While VITL has offices in Montpelier and Burlington, the eHealth specialist must work effectively from home and travel in-state to health care organizations.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in health care setting, especially in practice management
  • Substantial experience using and/or implementing electronic health record applications
  • Knowledge of various quality improvement tools & methodologies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical providers and their staff
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Facilitation and training skills
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
