Vermont health care practitioners who are eligible for incentive payments for adopting and implementing an electronic health records system, and becoming a meaningful EHR user, can now register for the program via a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website.

Click here for detailed instructions about the registration process.

If you are an eligible professional, and plan to register for the incentive under the Medicaid program, we recommend that you wait until you hear from the Department of Vermont Health Access or VITL that Vermont's Medicaid incentive program is available for registration. This will likely be in the third quarter of 2011.

If you are registering for the Medicare incentive, do not enter the EHR Certification Number now. The registration site is unable to process the Certification Number at this time. This field is not required for registration. It will be required later when you attest to meaningful use.

While the registration site is available now, please be advised that there is plenty of time to complete the registration process. February 29, 2012 is the last day for eligible professionals to register and attest to receive an incentive payment for calendar year 2011.
