Improving Health Care Quality

Electronic health records systems (EHRs) allow health care providers to collect and manage information more efficiently than with paper charts. Access to data is faster and confidentiality is enhanced.

Communications with other practitioners and staff members is improved. Patient care is also improved, as practitioners have access to clinical decision support tools and can be alerted to potential issues such as drug interactions.
