VITL — A Key Part of Your EHR Team
Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL) is a non-profit organization created to help the Vermont medical community fully leverage the advantages of information technology. VITL has been designated as the sole regional extension center for Vermont by The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
We’re helping many Vermont practices tackle EHR implementation, working with them to decide when to begin the implementation process, how to streamline it, and how to choose a certified EHR and meet the newly released meaningful use rules. Because we’ve received federal and state funding, we can offer EHR-related services free of charge for a limited time to qualified primary care practitioners. Click here to see the list of practices we're working with.
Our firsthand knowledge of physician workflows has helped us successfully operate the Vermont Health Information Exchange, which facilitates the timely delivery of results between labs and physicians.
We’ve played an important role in ePrescribe Vermont, which helps Vermont physicians and other prescribers adopt and use electronic prescribing technology.
In a short video, Vermont physicians discuss how VITL has helped their practices implement EHRs.
Our Customize
d Approach
Individual Focus. We know that no two practices are alike. So the unique roadmap we create toward EHR implementation is built around a thorough assessment of your practice. To collect this data with minimal disruption, we try to gather all the informationwe need to make a qualified assessment in one hour — even during your lunch hour if you’d like.
Custom Support Plan. Once we’ve gathered all the data, we create a support plan, rating your progress toward EHR implementation on multiple fronts, determining the level of assistance you’ll need, and allocating hours toward each component of the process.
Team Alignment. The next step is working with key members of your staff to present and, if necessary, adjust the plan. Once everything’s in place, a letter of intent sets clear expectations — including the number of on-site visits you can expect from us, the role we’ll each play in the process, and the expected EHR “Go Live” date you’ve chosen.
