Mark joined VITL in January 2014, and brings over 13 years of software engineering experience within the health care industry. Previously, as senior applications engineer at the Oracle Health Sciences Global Business Unit located in Montpelier, VT, he worked to design, develop, deploy, and maintain a web-based software application that operates in both the Phase 1 Clinical Trial and Blood Product Laboratory environments. Prior to that, as a software engineer at both Dawning Technologies in Fairport, NY and Data Innovations in South Burlington, VT, he has worked on software applications known as "middleware" that operate in the hospital clinical laboratory and point-of-care environments. A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2002, he has a bachelor's degree in information technology.
Jonathan joined VITL in April 2016 after working as an information technology consultant for a pediatrician’s office in South Burlington. His work included risk assessment and mitigation, as well as providing technical support during the transition from paper to electronic medical records. Knapp graduated from Champlain College with a degree in computer and digital forensics, and a specialization in information assurance.
Stuart brings 30 years of application software and database design and development experience to VITL with his hire in August 2013. Prior to joining VITL, he acquired broad exposure to the software development lifecycle during lengthy stints at GE Healthcare IT, Unisys Corporation, Dartmouth College, BRC Vision Care, and independent consulting. At those institutions, he often performed the role of technical lead in the development of core products or new product lines. Over the past 15 years, he has primarily focused on data warehousing for health care. Stuart received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Dartmouth College.
Kenan joined VITL in June 2011 after serving as the chief technology officer at the Thomas Chittenden Health Center in Williston, VT for four years. Kenan was responsible for implementing and supporting the physician practice’s electronic health records and practice management systems. He also designed and implemented interfaces and maintained network equipment. Previously he worked for Comcast Corporation as a project and design coordinator. Kenan trained as an electronics technician at Elektro Tehnicka Skola Doboj in Bosnia.
Lea joined VITL after working as a public health analyst for the Vermont Department of Health, where she developed reports on cancer prevention and control in Vermont, assisted in evaluation of the Cancer Control Initiative, and worked with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to improve data quality and reporting. Lea graduated with a Master of Science in Biostatistics from the University of Vermont. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience, with a minor in economics, from Middlebury College.
Justin joined VITL in December 2015 after working in the information technology field for 15 years, including technical roles in systems engineering, database and applications administration and web development. Prior to VITL he worked at Keurig Green Mountain for four years as a disaster recovery engineer, and as a systems infrastructure manager. Justin graduated from Champlain College with a Master of Science in Managing Innovation in Information Technology. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Services with a minor in Computer Science.
