eHealth Tidbit - Hot Topics in Meaningful Use

By eHealth Specialist Kat Meyer

Are you having trouble keeping up with the evolving Meaningful Use requirements?

Join us for Vermont Information Technology Leaders' (VITL) Summit '15 on September 30th for a session entitled "Hot Topics in Meaningful Use." This year's speakers have been selected to provide national and state program perspectives. Tom Novak, from the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC), will offer insights on the direction and changes to the meaningful use EHR incentive program. An expert in health care law, Matthew Fisher, Esq., will talk about regulatory compliance including HIPAA issues.

After their individual presentations, the speakers will be joined by Eleanor Thomas, manager of two physician practices in Brattleboro, Lorraine Siciliano from the Medicaid EHR Incentive program, Eileen Underwood from the Vermont Department of Health, and Suzanne McEachron, a VITL eHealth specialist. This panel will host an open question and answer session for the attendees and will offer local guidance in navigating the Meaningful Use EHR incentive program. This two hour session will be a great opportunity to ask questions and learn about Meaningful Use updates.

On October 1--day two of VITL Summit '15--attendees will have the opportunity to continue the health care and technology conversation in sessions that range from data analytics to patient engagement. The way in which clinicians are required to provide health care is transforming. It is imperative that all members of your health care organization and patients too, are informed and connected in this process of change.

VITL has taken an all-inclusive approach when developing program content for the VITL Summit '15. As a result, the expanded sessions are appropriate for health care consumers and health information technology innovators also. Please visit to view the full agenda and to register for the Summit.
