IMPORTANT UPDATE, March 2, 2015:

New EHR Attestation Deadline for Medicare Eligible Professionals: March 20, 2015

Eligible professionals now have until 11:59 pm ET on March 20, 2015, to attest to meaningful use for the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program 2014 reporting year.

CMS extended the deadline to allow providers extra time to submit their meaningful use data. CMS continues to urge providers to begin attesting for 2014 as soon as they can.

Note: The Medicare extension does not affect deadlines for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program. Additionally, the EHR reporting option for PQRS has been extended until March 20, 2015.

The deadline for calendar year 2014 Meaningful Use attestation is approaching. Please keep in mind there are some differences between the Medicare and Medicaid submission processes.

If the provider is participating in the Medicare incentive program, you must have your documentation submitted by 11:59 pm March 20, 2015. Double check the dates on your reports to ensure that you are using data for a calendar quarter (example: 4th quarter is October 1st- December 31st). 2014 is the last year to start the Medicare incentive program.

The Vermont Medicaid deadline has been extended to accommodate providers that are using the CMS 2014 Flexibility Rule. This extension is due to a scheduled upgrade to the MAPIR system. If you do not need to use the flexibility rule, you may attest at any time before 11: 59 pm April 27, 2015. If you are using the flexibility rule, you will need to submit your attestation between February 26, and April 27. The dates on your meaningful use reports should reflect a 90 day reporting period (example: October 1st - December 29th).
