Paul Harrington Elected Chair of VITL Board of Directors

Burlington, VT – Vermont Information Technology Leaders (VITL) announced Paul Harrington, executive vice president, Vermont Medical Society, has been elected chair of the organization’s board of directors. Harrington has been involved with VITL since it was incorporated in 2005, having most recently served as board treasurer. 

"I'm honored to be elected to serve as the VITL board chair and help its efforts to facilitate the sharing of medical information to improve patient care," said Harrington. "VITL's health information exchange network has the potential to be the backbone of Vermont's health care reform efforts."

In addition to Harrington’s appointment, Al Gobeille, chair of Green Mountain Care Board and Amy Putnam, MSA, director of finance and administration with Northwestern Counseling & Support Services, Inc. were also named to VITL’s board of directors.

Other VITL board members include: Bruce Bullock, MD; Don George, president and CEO, BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont; Bea Grause, president and CEO, Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems; Gertrude M. Hodge; Ron Keen, senior director at Cerner Corp; Andrea Lott, CIO/vice president information services, Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital; Robin Lunge, director of health care reform, Agency of Administration; and Chuck Podesta, SVP & CIO, Fletcher Allen Health Care.
