BURLINGTON, VT – VITL has named Richmond, Vermont-based HMC, a full-service marketing and advertising agency as its agency of record. On behalf of VITL, HMC will create and implement a strategic multimedia campaign to educate both providers and the general public about Vermont’s health information exchange (VHIE). The VHIE connects electronic medical record systems from different health care providers and hospitals across the state in order to securely and electronically share clinical data of patients they have in common for better coordination of care. The campaign is slated to launch later this year.

“Much of the technical work in establishing the infrastructure for the VHIE has been taking place behind the scenes,” said Robert Gibson, VITL’s vice president of marketing and business development. “We are now ready to take the next step in further engaging more providers and health care organizations throughout the state, in addition to the general public to showcase the value the VHIE is already and will continue to provide in improving the quality, efficiency and delivery of health care.”

“We are excited to partner with the team at VITL,” said Tom Holmes, HMC president. “The technology that they bring to the health care delivery system in a critical component in creating high quality, lower cost health care in Vermont.”

HMC brings an array of health-related experience to its new role with VITL. The agency has worked with such clients as Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont, Vermont Health Connect, and the Vermont Department of Health. For more information on HMC visit
